A/N: I felt compelled to write something for Jake, AKA SkyBlue, and Red, so here's my first story including a Pokemon OC! I may or may not write something for Edith and Steven and come up with a ship name for them, but who knows; with X and Y coming out tomorrow I'll be busy with Pokemon.

--------
Fandom: Pokemon
Characters: Red and SkyBlue (Sky)
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: None
POV: Sky's

--------

"Hey, Sky! You on your way to Mt. Silver?" Green asked me as I approached him, a big, crooked smile on his face. I nodded, and he slapped me on the back. "Cool! But don't catch a cold or die up there, OK?" I nodded again, "I'll ask you about your trip to Hoenn later, I know you want to go see Red." He smiled one more time at me and pat me on the back. "Be careful up there!"

"Thanks, Green." I smiled as I waved at my old rival and long-time friend. It's hard to imagine it was only five years ago the two of us were at each other's throats all the time. He waved back at me and turned around to go back to his gym. "Alright, I should drop off my Pokemon and head up, then." I turned toward the Pokecenter and dropped off my Pokemon, grabbing a large winter jacket and heading to Mt. Silver, where I could find Red.

Not too long after I had started my trek up the cold mountain did it get dark. "Uh-oh... I should find a place to rest for the night, maybe start a fire..." I sighed and looked around for a cave. There were none, so it looked like I'd have to climb the rest of the way up the mountain. I pulled my coat tighter around me and started walking again. "Ugh, it's so cold up here..."

Just as I decided I was too tired to continue I saw the light of Red's cave. "Thank Arceus." I let go of my coat and ran up the steps into the cave to find the Kanto champion sound asleep, curled up against his Charizard. I smiled, moving over to the fire dragon and petting his head. "Hey buddy, long time no see."

Apparently my voice woke up Red, because the next thing I heard was a very quiet, tired, "Who's there...?". I almost jumped, then laughed a bit and sat down beside Charizard, waiting for my companion to wake up. "Hey, Red."

Red blinked a few times, his raven hair a mess from being asleep for so long. He looked at me for a second in surprise before speaking. "Sky...?" He moved his blanket and got on his hands and knees, crawling over to me and dusting off my snowy black hair.

"Yeah." I smiled. Red's hands were still freezing. Not a surprise, he's been on this mountain since becoming champion. His hand lingered on my head, slowly moving down to cup my cheek. "I came back a few months early from Hoenn." Red nodded silently, still shocked. I laughed a bit and put my hand on his, causing him to flinch back a bit. My hands were a still a bit warm from being stuffed inside my jacket to keep warm.

"Yeah, you are..." He said after a while, letting his hand drop. We sat in silence for a moment, Red staring at me like I'd died and come back to life. After a long period of time, he lunged forward and tackled me in a tight hug, knocking us both over.

"Whoa-!" I fell with a light "thud" onto the cave floor, Red laying on top of me. I looked down at him for an answer, but he had his head turned, with his ear to my chest. He was listening to my heartbeat, I realized.

"...I missed you...." He said finally, squeezing me tighter. I felt a blush come to my cheeks, but I couldn't help but smile.

I wrapped my arms around Red's smaller frame and kissed the crown of his head, closing my eyes. "I missed you, too."
Ah, I'm rather pleased with this one.
